If you are considering buying this 1-hour DVD, it is definitely worth it for the footage. It has random aerial views from across the country, including Alaska & Hawaii (similar to Blue Planet) . Objective the footage of NYC and the WTC is worth the mark.

Most to all footage is complied from older PBS shows that I remember seeing in the mid-late 80′s. While many shots search for to be factual HD, others are easily seen as not.
Once again, take for the footage, but don’t examine complete HD satisfaction. Had I known, I would have bought the standard DVD so my family could borrow it.
Why not? Well, it’s beautifully filmed and a colossal advertisement for blu-ray, but too short for the money and not that inviting throughout despite some radiant shots.

Stark and brutal for its’ time, THE DETECTIVE, was Frank Sinatra’s best drama of the 1960′s(THE MANCHURIAN CANDIDATE belongs to Laurence Harvey and Angela Lansbury) . This is a record of tortured people keenly told focucusing on wwo main plots: a homosexual cancel and the connected subplot piquant an urban housing scandal. Both are well woven into a gritty storyline that is stronger that the written work of Roderick Thorp. The most effective visuals: evil police tactics that lead to the execution of a wrongfully convicted petty criminal, convincingly played by Tony Musante, in one of his first shroud roles and the stench of 1960′s NYPD corruption. Sinatra is outstanding in the lead role, showing a realm of obscene emotions: dogged, rigged, self edifying, guilt ridden, defeated. Credible encourage comes from William Windom, Jack Klugman, Robert Duvall as a racist, homophobic cop and Ralph Meeker as a snivler, to whom Sinatra gives a beat down.
Based on the 1966 new by Roderick Thorp, THE DETECTIVE was among the highest grossing films of both 1968 and one of the most approved of Frank Sinatra’s film career. At the time it was considered remarkably impartial in its portrait of a no-nonsense cop who finds himself trapped between a series of compromises and his beget sense of integrity. Today, however, it chiefly primary for its unintentional window onto 1960s homophobia.

Joe Leland (Frank Sinatra) is a third generation Fresh York City police officer who begins the film with two victories: in his private life, he has wooed and won a remarkably splendid wife, Karen (Lee Remick) ; in his professional life, he is assigned to a particularly famed abolish case that he fleet solves and which results in a major promotion. But both explode in his face in particularly unsavory ways. Although flawless on the surface, Karen is a distinctly skittish woman who shatters their marriage through a series of compulsive affairs. And although it seems solved, the case on which Joe’s promotion rests may not be nearly as simple as every one view at the time.
The case involves the brutal kill of a satisfied man who is found with his head battered in and sexually mutilated–a circumstance that leads Joe and his co-workers to prowl ‘known homosexual hangouts’ such as gyms and the waterfront. In the process, the film creates a portrait of the ecstatic community that says considerably less about the gratified community than the blueprint in which heterosexual America plan of it at the time. The ecstatic men themselves are astonishing, being pulled out of group gropes from the encourage of cargo trucks, flexing muscles in tawny-colored gyms, frequenting bars necessary for satin and velvet, and lounging about in silk robes. They arrive in two basic varities, victim and predator. They are customary and are routinely brutalized by both each other and the police, the latter of which positively delight in knocking them around.

This is not particularly current for films of the 1960s and the 1970s; it is distinguished the same portrait presented by such diverse films as Bid AND CONSENT and CRUISING. What is novel is Joe’s attitude toward them: unlike his co-workers, he dislikes seeing them mistreated and prefers to behold them (and indeed all other suspects) accorded a definite basic respect as human beings. It was a very, very fearless stance for a film to retract at the time. Even so, it does not counterbalance the portrait itself, which is intrinsically demeaning, or the sage, which ultimately pivots on a version of “elated alarm”–a heterosexual fable frail here with a little streak.
The chief grace of the film is the performances of Sinatra and Remick. Today Sinatra is best recalled as a singer, but he had some considerable acting chops, and he proves more than able to over the shortcomings of the script. Lee Remick, a much-admired actress, is flawlessly cast as the perfidious wife Karen, a woman who superficial qualities veil an unraveling personality. The supporting cast, which features Jacqueline Bissett, Jack Klugman, and Robert Duvall, is also quite gorgeous. But the script is frail, the chronicle choppy, the film is a shade too glossy for its subject–and its incredibly niave portrait of gratified men tends to overpower everything.
All films must be considered in the context of their eras, but even so a trustworthy film can transcend its era. THE DETECTIVE doesn’t manage to do that: sometimes ridiculous to the point of being comical, sometimes so grotesque that it becomes a bit embarassing. All the same, it remains intelligent primarily because it offers a window on what mainstream Americans of the 1960s belief homosexuals were like. The DVD offers the film in recent widescreen format; the transfer, however, is merely acceptable. Recommended primarily to Sinatra fans and film historians involved in Hollywood’s frequently off-the-wall narrate of delighted men.

“Throw Down Your Heart”, a documentary film, follows American banjo virtuoso on his trip to Africa to look for the African roots of the banjo and to record an album there. We go with Bela to Tanzania, Uganda, the Gambia and Mali and we see the beauty and complexity of “the dark continent”. We get a look at Africa that is very different than the way it is portrayed in today’s media. We so often hear that there is nothing good in Africa and that the people are beggars and are at war all of the time and that is a continent beset by HIV/AIDS. We learn that these statements only reflect a small part of the continent and we see places that are rich in beauty and in music.
Many of us are unaware that the banjo was originally an African instrument and Fleck is passionate about the banjo. He has made the banjo a part of all kinds of music–jazz, pop, classical and world and Fleck has won eleven Grammys and has garnered 27 nominations in more distinct categories than anyone else.
Fleck had heard many stories about the origins of the banjo and it surely gives up ideas of being an American instrument. We learn here that the American banjo is just a descendant of an African instrument and it has been played in West Africa for years. When slave traders came to West Africa, many of the slaves brought the precursor of the banjo to America with them as well as the knowledge of how to make it. Since slaves were not allowed to play drums on plantations, they played the banjo and it was not long before the white man began to copy it. Slowly the banjo evolved to what it is today and then became part of the culture of this country. Flack felt that a trip to Africa was necessary in order to fully understand the instrument better.
There was another motive that Fleck had as well and that was his great love for African music. He found the music to be inspiring and he often heard places where his banjo would fit. So he took a year off to explore. We see and hear several of his collaborations with all kinds of musicians from local villagers to international superstars. As he traveled, he used his banjo to transcend whatever barriers there were–speech, culture, etc and he found a common ground with musicians from all over and was able to create the most meaningful music of his career.

wow, i JUST came back from watching this at an indie theater in chicago. LOVE IT! bela is an african brother! western media only portrays africa in terms of despair, destruction, disaster, disease and destitution.
Bela shows the joy of African music and how music is truly universal. it may sound cheesy, but it’s a wonderful documentary. the cinematography is beautiful as well. bela meets with fabulous people. this doc. is so rich and uplifting. bela is truly a gift and using his talent to do more than what most of today’s pop singers don’t have the guts/skills to do.
absolutely breathtaking
I just had the opportunity to see this documentary at a local independent theater. I thought “Banjos and Africa? Random! But could be fun…” I was so so so underestimating the power of this film! The music is nothing short of tremendous (one piece in particular, in the first quarter of the film, is virtually guaranteed to leave you breathless and astounded), Incredible, passionate voices and remarkable instruments combine to form sounds that will grab your soul and shake it.
Bela is fun to watch as he interacts with African musicians of various calibers. I love how unassuming he is, and how he speaks (as one of the African musicians points out) perfectly through his music, although his mouth sometimes fails him. What a remarkably talented and humble guy!
All in all, 5 stars +++. I went home and bought the MP3 album immediately, and can’t wait to buy the DVD.

This Nova episode is something I saw on TV last evening.I knew about Typhoid Mary from historical chronicle but knew nothing about the facts.And as the actress portraying her so bluntly achieve it her NAME was Mary Mallon,an Irish immigrant cook living in Unusual York at the turn of the 20′th century.And as this explain so properly points out was responcible for one of the most mysterious and often deadly epidemics of the day.Only anguish is that in some distinguished ways Mary Mallon didn’t approach off as a particularly sympathetic character-she attacked Dr.Soper,who inicially informed her of her health station with a fork and constantly avaded the attentions of health service officials trying to track her down,while having killed three people and infecting others,unintentionally of course.
Mary was what was known as a healthy carrier.She was infected with Typhoid and was able to spread it to others but experienced no symptoms herself.There were in fact at least several dozen more like her but because of her recent case she got the most publicity by far.That was all compounded by the fact that dues to sexism and social Darwinism of her time she also became the literal poster child for Typhoid.

She died in the 1930′s,arrive 70 years conventional and having been exhiled for years on North Brother Island,the American equivilent of a leper colony.The yarn itself as well as that of great of Mary’s life is a tragic and black one.But all sides made serious errors in judgement,and perhapes Mary’s lack of respect over the years may have been due to her constant denials about having carried the disease and lack of remourse for those she’s infected.Maybe the opinion disquieted her too noteworthy to bare and it drove her end to madness.She was afterall something of a caregiver by trade and likely resented having been blamed for causing so remarkable misery.That’s my personal concept but nobody,as this shows really knew what was going on inside her head.And if this is to explain upright I don’t know if we’d want to.So was she a victem or victemizer? Probably both but as such likely too fearful to live with it but to proud to admit it.But anyway this will show very educational and explore catching.
This is another well produced NOVA offering that this time centers on the defective “Typhoid Mary!” I’ve heard the name/ phrase all my life but never really knew it referred to a precise person with a true record until viewing this DVD. Her fable is well told through dramatic reenactments supposedly using the character’s genuine words, vintage photos, and fresh day health and historical experts. And whether Mary was an unknowing victim or a vindictive villain is given glorious coverage without reaching a genuine conclusion.

Richard Nixon resigned from the office of the presidency on August 9, 1974, rather than face impeachment by Congress for his role in the Watergate scandal, and subsequent events. He was the only US president ever to do so. The film shows accurate footage of the Nixon family, leaving the White House and boarding a helicopter – the first step in a plug which will lift Mr. Nixon into exile.
David Frost, (Michael Sheen), a British celebrity talk display host, watches this event on television and decides that an interview with Nixon would be fair the thing to relaunch his waning career. He pursues the project for some time and winds up financing it out of his acquire pocket, while searching desperately for backers. Creepy literary agent Irving “Swifty” Lazar, (Toby Jones), negotiates the deal. Nixon agrees to do more than 20 hours of on-camera interviews with Frost, and will receive $1 million or more in fees and profits for the sessions. He is in serious debt. He has gigantic fair bills and support taxes to pay and needs the money. Under the terms of the contract, Nixon will have no control over sing of questions or editing, and will not gaze any of the questions in near. Of course, he can always refuse to respond questions, but he will have to do so in front of a tremendous audience.

Frost is a most incongruous choice for interviewer, as he has no journalistic experience and is known for being an entertainer and playboy. Yet he manages to upstage major TV networks with their reliable interviewers, like Mike Wallace, Walter Cronkite, and David Brinkley, and collect the gig. Nixon, after almost three years of silence, out of the public explore at his home in California, looks to the series of interviews as an opportunity to vindicate himself and resurrect his very tarnished image. He believes that Frost, a lightweight, will not ask the tough questions, and allow him to forward his enjoy version of his time in office and Watergate.
Frost brings British John Birt, (Matthew Macfadyen), with him to California, to yell the production. They hire radical researcher James Reston, Jr., (Sam Rockwell), who wants Frost to play hardball and try Nixon in the public inspect. TV producer Bob Zelnick, (Oliver Platt), signs onto the project also. Caroline Cushing, (Rebecca Hall), Frost’s comely girlfriend, accompanies the team. Nixon takes mark of her beauty on several occasions. He rattles Frost, before the beginning of one session, by asking if “he had done any fornicating” the night before. I have never known anyone else who is pleasant of using such awful language, frequently, and remain in a formal stance while doing so. However you stare at him, RMN is a very formal man…he never looks relaxed – in sincere life or as played by Mr. Langella.
Nixon has his hold team. US Marine officer Jack Brennan (Kevin Bacon), a Vietnam primitive, is Nixon’s most dependable fan, and Diane Sawyer, (Kate Jennings Grant), is a consultant and assistant. Nixon tells Frost at the get-go, “I shall be your fiercest adversary. I shall advance at you with everything I’ve got. Because the limelight can only shine on one of us.”
Ultimately, forty-four million viewers turned-out to search for Richard Nixon go head-to-head with David Frost, about a third of the U.S. viewing public at the time. Director Ron Howard brings the tension and drama of this event to the mask…and then some. He focuses more on the psychological aspects of the characters rather than on the politics keen – to spacious achieve. Howard explores each man’s insecurities and the enormity of their egos. He really captures the intensity of the interview sessions, including shots of Nixon mopping perspiration from his upper lip with a handkerchief.
I was somewhat fearful by one scene, a contrived midnight telephone call that Nixon, who had been drinking, makes to Frost. As so great of this film is correct, or mostly proper, the insert of a purely fictional event, is grand but misleading. Mr. Howard took dramatic license too far in this instance.
Again, Mr. Langella’s portrayal of Richard Nixon is stellar. Two monologues, in particular, stand out as exceptional. The final interview scenes, with close-ups of Mr. Nixon’s/Langella’s face, of his thoughtful, almost poignant expressions are phenomenal as he admits that he, “let the American people down.”
This is a film which brings remarkable depth to the event which it portrays, and to the characters eager. As a baby boomer, who clearly remembers Watergate, and the events surrounding it, I was riveted to the hide. Highly recommended.

After the Watergate scandal and his subsequent resignation, Richard Nixon (Frank Langella) is living in relative seclusion abet in California. But, following a lucrative interview offer from British talk prove host David Frost (Michael Sheen), Nixon sees an opportunity not only to accomplish some easy money but to return himself to the public spotlight. Meanwhile Frost, best known for chatting with celebrity lightweights, views this as a chance to procure fame and respectability as a journalist in America.
Frost is encouraged by his research aides to go hard after Nixon. But instead Frost throws softballs for the first three interview segments and is easily overwhelmed by his more experienced adversary. Then, on the night before the final interview, Frost receives a unfamiliar phone call from Nixon, who basically goes off on a drunken rant. Frost, smelling blood, decides to remove a more aggressive arrive and on the final day Nixon ends up making humiliating admissions about his role in the Watergate cover-up, perhaps cementing his tarnished legacy in American politics.
How worthy you luxuriate in this movie will probably depend on how powerful interest you have in the subject matter. But there is no doubt that this is one of those rare motion pictures that reaches approach perfection in terms of filmmaking. The acting, especially by Langella, is well-behaved and the sense of dramatic timing is impeccable. The shrimp details were also well handled, such as film’s place on depiction of the 70′s and Nixon’s bizarre fascination with Frost’s Italian leather shoes. This is probably the best directorial outing in Ron Howard’s career. Highly recommended.

It’s Elementary, this is a Must Purchase!
MPI Home Video has made a terrific decision here, combining all of its previously released DVD boxed sets of this classic 14-film series into one affordable package. It is a must buy for any Sherlock Holmes fan, or anyone who enjoys classic mysteries, who does not already have all of these wonderful films.
When these were first released on DVD it was truly a cause for celebration, as it represented the completed painstaking restoration of all 14 classic films by Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce.
The UCLA Theatre Archives did an award-winning job in restoring and thus preserving these great films from 35mm master copies into the digital format, sometimes literally being forced to piece together the celluloid remnants that they found.
It took the archivists several years to complete the entire project, but was well worth the wait. The result is that the black and white images seem as fresh today as when the films were released to theatres more than 40 years ago. The archivists deserve a hearty thanks from all movie fans concerned with preserving America’s classic cinema heritage for future generations to enjoy.
This boxed set includes a facinating feature on what it took to restore the films. Well worth watching, it’s wonderful that it’s included.
Atmospherically, “The Hound of the Baskervilles” is arguably the best of the 14 Holmes films, and the only one based specifically on a Conan Doyle story. It, and “The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes,” are the only two “period” films in the series and run longer, the remainder taking place in then modern-day England and America of the late 30s and early 40s and run about 90 minutes each.
Because the “regular” series was made during World War II, there are many references to it, as well as some facinating patriotic drum beating on the part of Holmes that concludes many of the films.
In both “Hound” and “Adventures,” Holmes dons his deerstalker cap, popularized by original Strand Magazine illustrator Sidney Paget who made the image synonymous with the great detective. It is interesting to note that in the first of the non-period films in the series, Holmes reaches for his handy deerstalker, but is stopped by Watson. “Holmes,” Watson said, “you promised.” Leaving the deerstalker on the peg, Holmes grabs a “modern” hat instead.
Rathbone is especially sharp in “Hound of the Baskervilles,” and is partnered by Bruce, who plays a bumbling Watson throughout the 14 films that was not Conan Doyle’s vision of the great sleuth’s biographical “Boswell.” Nonetheless, the pairing is hugely entertaining and satisfying.
The creation of the moor, the sinister grimpen mire and truly terrifying hound remains fantastic and does much to engender this story as one of Conan Doyle’s most popular with modern-day
readers and viewers alike.
The final scene represents the only reference any of the 14 films made to Holmes’ “seven-percent” cocaine habit as Rathbone asks Bruce to retrieve “the needle.” The scene, criticized as too risque by 1939 audiences, caused the film’s producers to make a conscious decision to omit any additional mention of Holmes’ recreational drug use in future outings.
All of the films are really enjoyable and bear up wonderfully well under repeat viewings. For me, two of the best films of the “regular” series are The Scarlet Claw, where a village believes the supernatural is at work killing people, and Sherlock Holmes Faces Death, where Holmes must solve the riddle of the Musgrave Ritual.
Not matter your age, these films deliver hours of enjoyment, and thanks to the UCLA Theater Archives and MPI, will for generations to come. I only wish that Rathbone and Bruce had lived to see their great work released to new audiences in this pristine DVD condition.
14 Rathbone-Bruce flicks complete on 5 excellent 5-star DVDs but in clumsy 1-star box
Philip St. John Basil Rathbone (13 June 1892, Johannesburg–21 July 1967, New York) and William Nigel Bruce (4 Sep. 1895, Ensenada–8 Oct 1953, Santa Monica) starred in 14 Sherlock-Holmes films as, respectively, Holmes and Watson. The first two films (1939) are period pieces whereas the last 12 (1942-46) are contemporary (“modern”).
“The complete Sherlock Holmes collection” is a 6/06 reissue on 5 DVDs of a 14-DVD set (in 5 boxes) previously issued by MPI 10/03-4/04. The reissues by MPI, which involve restorations of the 1942-46 films, have been critically acclaimed. This review thus just compares the 2006 and 2003-04 sets of reissues (this review also supplements the previous two reviews by R. Smith, 7/18, and E. Hornaday, 4/10):
OVERVIEW: 2006 reissue = 14 films on 5 DVDs (see below for track listing) in 1 box 1 1/4″ wide VERSUS 2003-04 reissue = 14 films on 14 DVDs in 5 boxes totaling 4 3/8″ wide.
DVD CONTENT: Same in both reissues except the 2006 box set has for “Dressed to kill” an added (i.e., unfortunately, not on the earlier issues) commentary by actress Patricia Morison and Holmes scholars David Gregory and Richard Valley.
BOOKLET/INSERT AND TEXT CONTENT: The 2006 box set has 2 pages of text besides the front cover. The 2003-04 reissues have 5 booklets (“production notes”) written by Richard Valley, 8 pages each for “Hound” and “Adventures,” 16 pages each for volumes 1-3. Although there is some overlap material, these 64 pages have many pictures and have much information on the 14 films, including cast listings.
SUMMARY OF PROS AND CONS OF 2006 BOX SET:
PROS: (1) much less expensive–$129.99 list ($119.99 Amazon in 7/06) versus $249.90 list ($224.95 Amazon in 7/06); (2) takes about 3″ less shelf space; (3) more convenient to shuffle only 5 DVDs than 14; (4) added commentary for “Dressed to kill.”
CONS: (1) no booklet insert and thus almost no information on the films included–a major deficiency; (2) appearance rather stark, with only 1 picture of Rathbone on the box (a pic of Bruce should also have been included); (3) flimsy cardboard case with 5 slim clear plastic DVD holders that fold out clumsily with the aid of a cloth puller and that are awkwardly hinged with only cellophane tape (and thus becoming easily unhinged, that is, DVD trays 1-4 separating from tray 5).

FINAL COMMENT: The 2006 box set crams 3 films on one DVD (e.g., DVD #1 with 232 min.). Some compression may be involved, but film quality seems equal to the 2003-04 issues with only one film per DVD.
The HOUND Limps! Ridiculous!!
Of course I’m talking one star for this release, NOT the classic films — five stars there. But same as other reviewers, my set froze on THREE different DVD players at the exact same spot on HOUND. There is no doubt in my mind that every set issued has this problem, though some rare players seem to be able to process it. What is so ridiculous is that nobody caught this in quality control!!! Are you kidding? Look at what this has cost the manufacturer and vendors by now. I returned mine (to another, lower priced seller) and got a full refund, but only after they paid shipping to and fro for another set (with the same exact problem). All this because nobody believed quality control was important. Again, HOLMES fans here — so you have to be joking if you think they will put up with such obscene flaws. As well, I totally agree with some others that the price is absurdly high — way too much money compared to comparable sets. And though the book style package is visually pretty neat, the quality is an embarrassment to say the least. The piece of tape hinge was a really, REALLY stupid idea — cheap and insulting to classic film fans — especially at this price level. And where is the booklet?? Where are the all the extras that OZ got for example?? Well, at least give us a few token features here for this rather large investment! I’m not going to touch this set until it all gets fixed — and the price subsides tremendously. What a disappointment to fans — Basil must be rolling over in his grave.

The package consisted of four DVDs and covered, the “Route of the Southwest Chief”, “Winter Wonderland”, “Colorado’s Scenic Deliver Rides”, and “The Potomas Eagle” respectively.
On each the programs, I considered the video photography showing unbelievable scenery as other features of the trains both beneficial and realistic together with a heavenly commentry with didn’t glean bogged down without too worthy technical detail making it delectable to both my family and friends. The side trips covered were also very savory and earn capable breaks whilst watching the long Amtrak journeys.
“Colorado’s Scenic Snarl Rides” gives a wonderful tour of the many scenic attractions and rail routes including around the mountains in this amazing Area, including narrow gage trains, cog rails to Pikes Peak, trolleys and streetcars, Denver’s original light rail and many other attractions. We enjoyed these in valid life as this DVD reminds us of many satisfied memories, and I feel distinct that every one should like this.

“The Potomac Eagle” I found the filming to be astounding and very realistic from a passenger perspective. The views of wildlife and their natural surroundings were extraordinary.
I found everything on each DVD absolutely challenging and delectable,and I can thoroughly recommend this DVD station of four to anyone. Also I would mention the prompt and hassle free service given by Amazon having received my order within a few days over here in Modern Zealand.

Yet the 1964 snippet of British suffrage tactics completely and convieniently overlooked their radical strategies in favor of bouncy and pert cheerleading which could otherwise found at a high school game. While acknowledging the need for women’s rights, that same film also presented the women as pampered housewives who were really too busy for their families.
Thank goodness this HBO movie is mighty more realistic about the American-British radical suffrage struggle.

Alice Paul (Hillary Swank) and company may be conventionally sparkling, but they are also not skittish to present how openly ticked off they are about being held to laws they cannot succor invent.
Much to the chagrin of the older `respectable’ American suffragists (who want to wait for men to give them the vote), the British experience encourages seek information from for corpulent sociopolitical equality. When they are jailed for their convictions, the women refuse to eat. By our recent expectations, the prison response (shown in graphic detail) is especially brutal.
For all of their progressive politics, Paul and company downplay hurry ironically in a time when such justice is most needed. Paul personally welcomes relieve of Delta Sigma Theta and other African American organizations, but worries their public presence will either undo or prevent the vital southern help primary to winning suffrage. It is not easy to admit that our movement has an unfavorable past, but it is famous to ensuring a socially unprejudiced future for all members. This conciousness is a marked improvement from days when even feminists themselves assumed their experiences applied for all women and hurry was a separate voice.
Another plus, this same movie recognizes men have always supported the suffrage movement not because they wanted a partner, already had one, or were lobbied until they had no other public choice—but out of similar social justice pains.
Again, earlier suffrage depictions (as with the larger feminist movement) erroneously claimed that the movement was all women. This more just historical represent may convince male viewers they have a similar obligation to work for the continuation of original women’s equality. Other men will request their motives and some women will interrogate their sincerity. But equality is really everybody’s fight.
Attending a college, which was founded by many suffragists, the emphasis on women college graduates (then a statistical minority) was especially sobering. Despite our new knowledge of women’s studies and gender theory, I don’t deem my generation (including myself) appreciates how fortunate we are when we would have been jeered at in earlier generations for receiving a college degree. After seeing this movie, I walked across my fill campus trying to imagine some of the local townspeople (opposed to the understanding of women receiving a college education in their town) threatening us on a reach constant basis.
Precisely because Paul’s Equal Rights Amendment was not ratified by the required states by the 1982 deadline, the film ends on a uncomfortable ticket. Paul’s work remains half-finished and we have upright obligation to ensure the ERA becomes piece of the constitution.
Encouraging viewers to complete the revolution, the movie turns armchair loungers into activists.
As a immense fan of historical films, I always derive nervous before seeing a movie whose subject is one that I am passionate about. Therefore I was quite afraid about this movie.
Turns out, it was the best pull off of all suffrace films. Touching and moral, with the accurate amount of heart, humour, and intelligence, this movie made for an toothsome and educating experience. It reminded me why I am jubilant to be a woman.
