Funimation has to be credited for their ability to plunge anime DVD collections in a timely manner. After all, patience may be a virtue but who wants to wait around to secure out how a tale they’re waist-deep in concludes? Such was the case with Romeo x Juliet. The first collection (known as the Romeo Collection) hit streets on June 23rd and now the concluding state is at our collective disposal as of August 11.

Romeo x Juliet from Funimation breaks the 24 total episodes into a pair of two-disc sets. The second of which (reviewed here) is known as The Juliet Collection and contains episodes 13-24. Packaged within an appropriately artistically decorated cardboard exterior slipcase is a pair of thin disc cases each containing a single dvd (with 6 episodes on each) .
Total runtime comes in at 290 minutes and the present wears a conservative TV PG (13+) rating, based presumably more on the grander adult oriented themes (we do all know how this legend will kill) than it is language, sexual scenarios, or gore.

Language options are standard handsome sub & dub meaning the fresh Japanese dialog track is presented (in stereo) as well as the option of instead watching an English dub (in Dolby Surround 5.1) . Finally English subtitles are available with either vocal option.
Extras include an English actor commentary track over Act (episode) 24, textless songs, and a host of Funimation trailers on the second disc.
As was the case with the first collection, the source material here deviates from the unique William Shakespeare play while retaining many of the same fundamental concepts of forbidden appreciate, dictatorship governments, and the agony of heartbreak.
In this installment Prince Montague sentences the captured Juliet to death, which of course spurs her faithful comrades into rescue efforts. For simply aiding in Juliet’s hurry, Romeo finds himself exiled to the grueling Gradisca mines.
Though ripped apart from one another, both Romeo and Juliet focus their efforts to invent a world where they can be together while Juliet cements a Capulet strike against Montague complete with the return of her vigilante alter ego, the Red Whirlwind.
While the human factions battle each other for control, Neo Verona itself is crumbling as Escalus, the tree that supports everything, begins to wither and die beneath their very feet.
Pacing in the show’s second half is considerable grander in terms of scale and scope when compared to that of the first 12 episodes. The admire interest between the title characters definitely blossoms into a more believable/ less forced relationship here even as the underlying chaos that surrounds them builds to a fever pitch.
Without giving away too many spoilers, I will say to seek information from some of the tragic nature of the source material to not only carry over but to become a literal ultimatum faced by the characters by the show’s dramatic conclusion.
However, I really don’t wish to insinuate that the entire Juliet Collection serves as a funnel to the inevitable conclusion; in fact the truth is quite the contrary. Thanks to the fact that this half of the sage once again consists of a burly 12 episodes should hint toward the truth that the voyage is every bit as rewarding as the arrival.
I was particularly moved by the sequences that focused on Romeo’s torture in the mines, as they appear to have been lifted from some of the finer science fiction films of yore and work very well here. Juliet’s isolated plots were a bit drier and more politically under-toned but I suspect some may collect this to be the more appetizing.
Prince Montague’s tyranny really comes into fruition in this installment as well; a credit to Gonzo’s ability to paint realistic characters (treasure them or abhor them) .
Like in the first half, the artistry is by no means spectacular but it does work within this setting with emphasis on textures and background detail, sometimes at the cost of the moment. The musical win however continues to form both in scale and mood. Ultimately, it comes off as a very well constructed symphonic fetch that manages to mark (even in the show’s darker moments) .
Once again I’m left with mixed feelings on the occasional old-English/ Shakespearean-inspired dialog on the English dub, which may actually be obliging to the novel Japanese dialog (a rarity in the anime world) . It’s not quite as glaring an inconsistency as it was in the first installment, but it without fail makes the viewer wonder if it would have worked better to finish resisting and honest acquire the entire exhibit that plan or to avoid any and all references to that era and simply do away with it entirely.
The English state cast commentary track is gargantuan in terms of demonstrating objective what a highly anticipated project the indicate was to Funimation. It’s laughable to hear that nearly everyone on staff did their absolute best in the hopes of snagging one of the lead roles. Of course the producers had to narrow it down and surely there were those lowly teach actors left feeling like the last person on the wall during team selection of a gym class dodge ball game.
In all, this is a must have for those who watched, loved, liked, or even fair barely got through the first half. For everyone else, this is definitely above average anime as a whole and now that the beefy 24-epiodes are available, this would be the perfect opportunity to salvage fervent. After all, virtuous or otherwise, waiting for a show’s conclusion bites.
Added unusual depth to the classic William Shakespeare tail Romeo and Juliet.
I had a few doubt going into this series, but my misgivings were posthaste assign to rest, I understanding it might turn out like the Leonardo DiCaprio movie Romeo and Juliet, the movie was exquisite poor. Thankfully the anime series is a whole lot better.
Romeo X Juliet is a fantastic anime series. There is the same account of two waring families, and the two children from the families falling in esteem. There are so many things that invent this a ample anime series. First the epic, obvious there’s the same classic narrative, but GONZO added great more and fresh twists to the anecdote. The world the anime series takes status in is incredible. A mysterious land floating in the sky, winged horse, and of course the Tree called Escalus. The mystery unhurried the floating land is the trusty record. The adore legend, between Romeo and Juliet is impartial a added befriend.
The characters were also unbelievable. GONZO brought many changes to them, adding more life to them than in the classic play. Characters from Lady Portia(Romeo’s Mother), William, Ophelia, and many more.
Next is the music, which is apt on par with Fullmetal Alchemist, but a notch below Cowboy Bebop.
Finally the animation is done by GONZO. The did a handsome job with Romeo X Juliet, it honest amazes me how great a job they do.
Overall Romeo and Juliet is a classic anime series, and is in my top 5 anime series I’ve seen

I literally raved about how distinguished I enjoyed Fraction I and how “CODE GEASS: Lelouch of the Rebellion” is fair an fantastic series and one of the best to arrive from Japan in awhile.
And so far, the popularity has led to another series, the first anime album to advance #1 on the Oricon music album charts and many of the drama series breaking into the Oricon album charts top 10.

The series is objective well written, the CLAMP-based characters are impartial chilly and the mecha and art designs are objective unbelievable to notice at.
Vol. 3 consists of episodes 10-13 and Vol. 4 consists of episodes 14-17. The storyline primarily focuses on the introduction of MAO, who has a Geass of reading people’s thoughts and of course, more revelations on Suzaku and how it will impact his relationship with Lelouch.
VIDEO & AUDIO:
“CODE OF GEASS: Lelouch of the Rebellion” is featured 1:78:1 Anamorphic Widescreen. The animation and video quality is intelligent and digitally new since it is a newer anime television release. What I treasure about the video quality is the sheer amount of people enthusiastic. Everyone with detail, buildings, mecha and the destruction has detail. The character designs based from CLAMP’s character develop concepts are impartial modern and cold to notice at. One of the coolest looking character designs in an anime mecha series without being a full-on mecha series. Very icy!
As expected from a modern anime series, video quality was unprejudiced tall. From the character animation to the backgrounds, everything was brilliant and vibrant. And because this series features so many scenes throughout Japan, this series really featured so grand background art and characters. Everything looked awesome! Again, I’m very impressed with how noteworthy went in creating a single episode.
As for the audio, the audio is English and Japanese stereo. For a television series, I was sort of expecting stereo sound but incandescent some television series including Dolby Digital 5.1 on the DVD soundtracks, I was hoping that there may have been a Dolby Digital 5.1 track for Code Geass but the audio is stereo. Dialogue is obvious and you can understand what the characters are saying. Both the English and Japanese bellow acting are well done.
SPECIAL FEATURES:
You can secure really chilly special features on both volumes. Let’s inaugurate with the volume 3 DVD:
1. Report Drama Episode Episode #4 (Stage 9.75) – In this episode, Lelouche cooks Nunnally a meal and spends time with his sister.
2. Recount Drama Episode Episode #6 (Stage 4.33) – In this episode, Jeremiah talks to Mao about being a failure of not being their to prevent the deaths of Lady Marianne (Lelouche’s mother) and Lord Clovis.
3. Audio Commentary Stage #11 – In this audio commentary, the divulge actors for Lelouche (Jun Fukuyama), C.C. (Yukana) are joined by Yuriko Chiba (Character Animation Director), Eiji Nakada (designer of Knightmares and Mecha Animation Director) and Kazuya Murata (Assistant Director) and discuss episode 11. Another fun and spirited commentary thanks to the commentary direction by Lelouche snarl actor Jun Fukuyama. In this commentary, we learn how the animation process works and the communication between writers and directors. Also, the ideas passed by the designers to the director.
4. Textless Opening (2nd Version of “Colors”)
With the fourth volume, the special features are:

They discuss the various opening animations and also the animation direction of the series and Orikasa Fumiko discusses her playing the role of Shirley.
* Textless Ending for “Mosaic Kakera”
* Textless Opening for the 1st version of “Kaidokufunou”
JUDGMENT CALL:
I really enjoyed this latest Section II of “CODE GEASS: Lelouch of the Rebellion”. Enjoying the strategy, the wit, the action sequences and how everything plays out, is honest fabulous.
With Portion II, you can content how the series is setting things up between Lelouche versus Suzaku. Both are best friends, having grown up with each other but when Lelouche finds out that Suzaku is a thorn in his side, you impartial wonder how far Lelouche will go to extinguish Britannia.
What’s more frightful is to scrutinize him go through the doldrums of smart he killed Shirley’s father but sacrifices are needed. But more unpleasant what he had to do to Shirley in order to ensure that his identity as Zero is not blown.
Both volumes were objective as action-packed, engaging and addictive as the previous two volumes. And there were a lot of revealing moments for Suzaku and C.C.’s characters. So, suffice to say, these two volumes are quite significant as it’s definitely setting things up for probably more explosive and action-packed episodes.
With everything so determined, the only negative, and it’s really not a negative but more or less I enjoying hearing the action all around me via Dolby Digital 5.1 (especially in DTS-HD or Dolby TrueHD ala Blu-ray) is that I wished that audio was presented in Dolby Digital 5.1 but composed dialogue is quite positive and easy to understand in stereo and the music as well. But I really hope this series gets the Blu-ray treatment soon.
“CODE GEASS: Lelouch of the Rebellion” is a incredible anime series that doesn’t approach along too frequently in Japan. Splendid character designs, art direction, relate acting, mecha designs and a improbable area, this anime is definitely special and worth watching.
Like Share I, everything about Section II of “CODE GEASS: Lelouch of the Rebellion” so far has been safe and I can’t wait for Allotment III. I highly recommend this DVD dwelling!
Code Geass is the best anime I’ve seen to date. It has a bit of everything: mecha, strategy, romance, politics, comedy. The characters are inviting and involving, and the English dubbing is shapely excellent. Curve balls near out of left field at any moment making you desperate to sight the next episode. My jaw hit the floor more often in this series than all the other anime I’ve seen combined. Can’t recommend this series strongly enough. WARNING: don’t search for info on the reveal online as you’ll probably fetch Ample SPOILERS!!

Aquarion takes area 11 years after a grand difficulty destroys most of Earth. Along with the destruction came beings called Shadow Angels who have been asleep for thousands of years, and initiate to harvest humans and extract their life force. Ordinary human weapons are ineffective against the Shadow Angels, that’s where the organization called Deava comes in creating machines to fight against the Shaded Angels called Vectors. The Vectors can also combine to invent a giant robot. The anecdote takes off years later and follows Apollo who might be a reborn hero from thousands of years ago.
I’m going to initiate with the things I didn’t like about the display than to the things I did like.

1. This demonstrate objective seemed to blend RahXephon, Eureka Seven and Evangelion together and this is what came out. I know the creators of this series were trying to pronounce a memoir, it honest didn’t work, it impartial didn’t earn remarkable sense. This was the fragment that brought down the series for me, maybe if I hadn’t seen the shows above I might have enjoyed it more.
2. The other thing that I didn’t like was the soundtrack which didn’t add anything to the series.
Onto the top-notch.
1. The best section of the series were the characters. I’ll focus mainly on Apollo who was a mountainous main character. He was delicious to stare and you will unprejudiced insensible like him. You will like him more as the series goes on and scrutinize him design. There were other profitable characters in Silvia, Hong Lihua who I found very fascinating, Pierre, and the rest. Each brought something to the series.
2. The other thing that I liked was the animation done by I believe Satelight, I could be unpleasant. Anyway I view it was very ample, and added to the series.
Overall a decent series that recycles themes from other inconvenience anime.
Filled with twists and turns, Aquarion does its best to relate a fun chronicle that touches audiences emotionally. While unlikely to convert a wave of fans that need to peruse more, the twenty six episodes of this series don’t feel like wasted time either. While it will rarely be described as `great’, it remains a mech anime worth watching once.

Selling season 3 in 2 parts is really biting the hand that feeds you. I absolutely loved parts 1 & 2 but spending 30 bucks for 8 episodes (the length of fraction 2) hurts my frugal nature!
Why does HBO consistently settle to jerk their fans? Almost $80 for a “complete” season of this display! And the same amount for “THE SOPRANOS”, “ROME”, and “DEADWOOD”. Obvious they’re colossal shows, but approach on … Showtime sells WEEDS and DEXTER in the $20-$30 range and NBC gives us an entire 24-episode season of FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS for impartial $19.95!
