“Hunter X Hunter Volume 4″ is the last volume of the shortish anime series, and it’s also drastically different from the entire storyline that precedes it. Not only is it far darker and bloodier, but Kurapika and his quest for revenge become the center of attention rather than the goofy and less developed Gon — and it’s a sparkling fragment of work, if a rather unsatisfying kill.

On a lunge succor to Whale Island, Gon and Killua learn of a box that Gon’s father left for him — and among the contents is a video game memory card with the uncertain, infamously rare “Greed Island” on it. The boys immediately inaugurate trying to raise money on internet auctions and casinos, as they form their method to Yorknew City. Oh, and Leorio rejoins them for the time being.
Meanwhile, Kurapika has taken on a job as one of several Hunter bodyguards for a psychic Mafia girl, who is planning to relieve the auction in Yorknew City. The Phantom Troupe is also fervent in the Mafia’s booty (not determined why), and the girl that Kurapika and his novel compatriots are guarding. With Hisoka’s benefit, Kurapika plans to get and ruin the Spiders with his unusual power — a series of deadly nen chains.

But when the auction items vanish from the vault, Kurapika ends up facing the first of the Phantom Troupe — but they are soon as twisted on vengeance as he. Worse, his young friends have become enmeshed in the Troupe’s web.
Leech infestations, impalements, flesh-shredding punches, shattered bones, a man slowly eaten alive, and Kurapika’s heart-squishing chain — “Hunter X Hunter Volume 4″ is a exquisite grisly affair. This is especially lawful because the entire arc really revolves around Kurapika’s quest for revenge — clear, there’s some fluffy subplots about Gon and Killua selling stuff on the Web, but they pale by comparison.
And the writers wrap the entire storyline in a sad camouflage, which seems to be half mob thriller and half murky coming-of-age. They also weave in some truly improbable fight scenes (a multi-person fight against nen ninjas) and bleakly intricate thriller storylines (Gon and Killua’s acquire by the Spiders) ; viewers also bag some glimpses of the heretofore unknown Phantom Troupe, who are frightening in their sheer power.
Even the animators seemed to polish their work further, with some hauntingly shadowed, purple-toned images that are both delicate and despicable — the bloody ballet between Kurapika and his enemy, or the sociopathic Chrollo “conducting” terrorist attacks. The one jam would probably be that though the anime series ended here, it leaves several space threads hanging loose. The anecdote was picked up in some OVA episodes, but for the moment this is it.
These episodes also flesh out Kurapika into the best-rounded character of the series, as well as a truly tragic figure. He’s a gentle, still young man who has intentionally made himself into the ultimate nen fighter, despite his hatred of death and blood. His devastation after he kills for the first time is heartbreaking. And we look more of the iron-clad determination and resourcefulness of Gon and Killua, even in the worst circumstances.
There are also a modern round of well-rounded, intricate supporting characters. Kurapika’s ugly-but-kind friend Melody is a particular standout, and the Phantom Troupe turns out to have their maintain internal loyalties and personal ties. Their leader’s doe eyes are rather freaky, though.
“Hunter X Hunter Volume 4″ is a sparkling ending to a previously solid and slow-moving series, with a tragic edge and plenty of action. A dismal affair, but a gargantuan one.
Some people seem to assume that Vol. 4 ends up splitting off into a completely different series that the first 3/4. I happen to believe it is objective the evolution of a truly astronomical series in fact, it was this entire arc that got me into Hunter x Hunter at a time when I acquire seeing the animation and, being inferior by the latest technologies, overlooked this truly fabulous tale AND (now that I’ve reach to be pleased it) animation. I will be getting this the second it is released. Personally, I deem they need to give the Spiders their gain series!

What this means is that there will be 14 episodes left unreleased from the modern(4th) season. Hopefully they will release those after the season and then maybe they can fair release rotund seasons instead of these partial season “volumes” we have been getting(at burly season prices, might I add) . As far as the point to itself…….well, my title says it best! In it’s 4th season, the display continues to accumulate better and better every week. The episode “Tearjerker” is probably the best one on this plot. It is the one parodying the James Bond Movies. As distinguished as I loved the Family Guy Star Wars Parody, in my humble idea, this is far expedient. My only bone to purchase with the writers is that Klaus seems to be aged a limited less than in the early episodes. This place will also fill the usual bonus features ( Deleted Scenes, Commentary, Unrated/Uncensored Episodes, etc.)
BTW To those wondering about the future of the display, FOX has extended this exhibit for a 5th season!
UPDATE: I picked up my copy today and one dinky ticket for the few that might care. The packaging is different from the first 3 Volumes. The case is smaller, the size of a single dvd case with three slots inside for the discs.
Another sizable season from another gigantic series. American Dad impartial gets better with age. I assume the show’s creators really like these characters and its shows in such episodes as “Oscar Gold” and “Pulling Double Booty.” In these episodes, stout personas like Jeff and Roger really net to near forward and grasp the prove to the next level. But really, Oscar Gold is by far the number one reason to occupy this latest season. Any episode with Roger as the focus is always gravy. “Seriously Barry, you are the worst architect ever!”

This region includes fourteen episodes of the Lion Force Voltron series. These are the final seven episodes adapted from the Beast King GoLion episodes, and the first seven episodes that were produced by World Events Productions for a second season of Lion Force Voltron.
On this area, there are five items in the “Special Features” menu. The first is labeled, “Instruct Actor Interviews.” Neil Ross, BJ Ward, and Michael Bell were interviewed for this feature. They talked about how they auditioned, what characters they portrayed, the recording process, how they developed their characters, and remembering cast member Lennie Weinrib (who had passed away while the Lion Force Voltron DVD sets were being released) .
The next feature is labeled, “Season Three Featurette.” This fragment includes interviews with Franklin Cofod, Marc Handler, Peter Keefe, and Bill England. This featurette explains why World Events Productions produced recent Lion Force Voltron episodes instead of dubbing Albegas (a third robot series they had acquired the rights for) . They also talk about how they got several staff members from the new Beast King GoLion series to earn the unusual episodes, and define the process that was old to compose the unusual episodes. The featurette ends with talking about the two novel characters (Cossack and Merla) that were introduced in the current Lion Force Voltron episodes.
The next feature is “Man on the Street: Voltron Memories.” These are “man on the street” interviews conducted by Jeremy Corray. He went around the streets of St. Louis and randomly asked people if they remembered Voltron. Unfortunately, most of the people interviewed seemed to only have really vague memories of the exhibit, and were more likely than not to give absolutely unfavorable information.
The “Gallery 1984″ feature is a slideshow of production art, stills from the point to, pictures from the Voltron Tell event, and pictures of Ted Koplar and Peter Keefe sititng at a table with Voltron toys. Unfortunately, there’s no draw for the viewer to control how quick the pictures go through the slideshow. The final feature on the plot are trailers for other properties released by AnimeWorks.
For fans of Voltron, this location allows you to gain more episodes of the Lion Force Voltron series for your DVD collection. The first couple of special features on this site are glowing decent, but the others are a disappointment. Even with that flaw, this place is quiet worth owning, especially if you are a Voltron fan.

The material on these DVDs would accumulate 5 stars, but I’ve given it 3 because of some mistakes by Disney.

To open off I want to warn everyone that there appears to have been a mistake during the production of this DVD. The last reel of ‘Secrets of Life’ was originally in cinemascope and some copies of this title indeed do reveal this in cinemascope with a message at the beginning of the movie forewarning the viewer that the film will change to widescreen approach the destroy of the film. However some copies of this title do not have this and the footage is pan and scan. So it will probably be luck of the procedure as to which one you gain! Hopefully Disney will offer a disc replacement program for all of those downhearted people!
Aside from that shriek this is a incredible collection of Disney Right Life Adventures. The 2 features are unbelievable ‘Secrets of Life’ really is fine in every scheme and ‘Perri’ being a good life fantasy based upon the modern by Felix Salten (who wrote Bambi) has a distinguished more of a Disney film feel to it than the slighty more educational nature of the Factual Life Adventures.

Since the contents are already listed above I won’t bother listing them again let me objective say these films are truly captivating and fantastic in every blueprint and the bonus features are so in depth and so informative it’s spurious!
One negative (aside from the fact that some people will earn an incorrectly framed version of ‘Secrets of Life’) is that the Disneyland exhibit ‘Adventure in Wildwood Heart’ is presented in dismal and white, yet when it is being discussed in the bonus features the clips are in color! If color footage of it survives, why was this not provided instead of the dark and white version? Disney accomplish tedious decisions!
I know of this film only through a richly illustrated book for children, Secrets of Life, with photographs from the film by the Disney Studio. I borrowed the book several times from the library simply for its improbable photographs of the life of bees. One sequence struck me-how bees do a ‘dance’ to ‘tell’ other bees in the hive where a generous source of nectar(a field of flowers) is. According to Roy Disney the film looks better than it did when originally released. According to other reviewers the movie includes pleasing time lapse photography of flowers accompanied by the classical portion, Bolero. Nature lovers, rejoice! This plot also includes Perri, the life of a squirrel, which was also well received.

My son will look this one over and over. His current character is Taz because of his crazy, all-over-the-place, chaotic antics. He thinks it’s impartial hilarious. He particularly likes the “To Stammer the Tooth” episode, mainly because Taz is a starring character and he cracks him up. His other common is “Christmas in July” because what kid doesn’t like the plan of getting what you really want/need at another time of the year that’s not Christmas or a birthday. It’s sweet how all Lola’s friends want to succor her feel better when she is frustrated and sunless, and work together to figure it out.

In general, Baby Looney Tunes can be a shrimp preachy for my taste, but I DO like how they expose the different personalities of the toddler animals interacting, playing and disagreeing, and working it all out with a dinky guidance from the very gentle and loving wise ol’ Granny. They do a ample job of showing how kids’ friendships work, furious feelings and all, portraying realistic ways of dealing with conflict with people you care about.
I got this for my 4-year-old for her birthday; she has watched it over and over.
